4000 YEARS OF KUTAISI: EUROPE'S OLDEST CONTINUOUSLY INHABITED CITY (IN THE FRAME OF EUROPE DAY 2025)
On the 25th of October, as part of the Europe Day 2025 events held in Kutaisi, the history of this remarkable city of Western Georgia was presented. Dr Jacek Hamburg, Director of the Krukowski Center and Head of the Polish-Georgian Kutaisi Archaeological Landscape Project, gave a presentation, showed a short movie, and prepared a small exhibition illustrating 4000 years of continuous habitation in Kutaisi, which places the city among the oldest continuously inhabited urban settlements in Europe and the top 20 in the World.
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH
The Krukowski Center also organized meetings and events for the younger generation, such as Archaeological and Artistic Workshops in Kutaisi for the Polish School of Saint Queen Jadwiga from Tbilisi. The three-day event included numerous activities for the young participants: visits to archaeological sites in Kutaisi, a lecture on the life of Prof. Stefan Krukowski, Patron of the Center, two additional lectures on Polish-Georgian archaeological research at Bagrati Cathedral in Kutaisi, and workshops on artistic ceramic painting, covering both theory and practice.
IMPORTANT OFFICIAL MEETINGS
Archaeologists from the Krukowski Center met with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and Polish President Andrzej Duda at the Orbeliani Palace in Tbilisi to present artefacts from the Late Bronze Age and Roman period discovered by Polish-Georgian expeditions.

Promotion of the book Gvarjilas Glde Cave in Georgia at the Georgian National Museum in Tbilisi
OPENING THE KRUKOWSKI CENTER SCIENCE STATION IN KUTAISI
Second visit of the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, to Kutaisi. Her Excellency met with the Polish and Georgian archaeologists conducting the KALP project, Prof. Roland Isakadze and Dr. Jacek Hamburg, as well as with representatives of the Polish Institute in Tbilisi during the official opening of the Krukowski Center Science Station in Kutaisi.
VISITING ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES
First visit of the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, to Kutaisi. On this day, the KALP project was under Presidential Patronage (2019–2024).
